Pondering the critique.

by Kagiso Kwenda

This might come as across as an issue which has been dealt with; it turns out that critiquing how black culture and works of art these culture(s) produce is still a source of major discourse. Discource may spring from these works of art but their influences(this work wield) are felt from diverse spectra of the humanities department in major universities, If one could google Miles Davis ground breaking work like "miles ahead" or his post modern work "in a silent way". The endless review which pop up deal mostly with critiquing the abstraction these work exibit -but do they delve to the work themselves?

The verdict is still out on how best to critique these works and one must not only think that these type of criticisizm is cofined to a specific type of art "branch". One must not only ask him\herself how best to critique this works of art and what methodologies must one utilise in order to better understand them. This includes the aesthetics in these works and the methods involved in creating these works. How much impact they have on society;to whom the works of art are directed should be accounted as a result of the art works reason of existence.
I will end this rambling with a bit of what Bo Diddley has remarked about the troubles he and his works faced
